ARRIVAL INVIENTIANE (by A/C car)
Arrival at
the Wattay
Airport. Welcome
to Vientiane
-
the Capital of Laos
- the only land - locked country in
Southeast Asia 'land of a million elephants'
and one of the last places to see old Indochina. Laos' isolation from
foreign influence offers travellers an unparalleled glimpse of
traditional southeast Asian life. From the fertile lowlands of the
Mekong River valley to the rugged Annamite highlands, Laos is the
highlight of southeast Asia. Sits on a bend in the Mekong River amid
fertile alluvial plains. Despite its chequered past,
Vientiane
is a laid-back city with a number of interesting Wats and lively
markets. Transfer to hotel for check-in and
free at leisure for your own activities.

Day 2:
VIENTIANE - LUANG PRABANG (by A/C car,
plane)
After
breakfast, you will
visit the Vientiane Capital. Morning visit the
National Revolution Museum and Kisone
Phom
vihanh
Museum of which where varied antique items and legend of Laos 's
history fighters and leaders displace from the ancient times to new
revolution period. The tour is followed-up to
the oldest temples such as : visit to
Wat Sisaket,
built in 1818 by
Chao Anou - the very king responsible for incurring the wrath of the
Siamese and causing his capital's obliteration. The interior of the main
hall, and the walls of the surrounding courtyard, are inset with
thousands of tiny niches and shelves containing
6840 Buddha images and Buddhist
inscriptions from the 18th century. Then
Patouxai war memorial. Inspired by the
Arc de Triomphe in Paris, the Patouxai (Lao
for Gateway of Victory) is adorned with an array of rough hero
Lao historical imagery and offers a splendid, panoramic view of the city
from its top. If enough time, proceeding to
Wat Ho Phakeo - a former royal temple, built in 1565 by
King Setthathirat, the temple was
originally designed to house the famous
Emerald Buddha, which he had brought with him from the Kingdom of
Lanna, That Luang - The most important
national monument in Vientiane, is a symbol of both Buddhism and Lao
sovereignty, was constructed in 1566 by
King Setthathirat.
Return to hotel
for check out then lunch at local restaurant. After that, transfer to
airport for flight to
Luang Prabang by
QV103 at 16.30-17.10.
Luang Prabang
- the
ancient capital of the Lao Kingdom, list by UNESCO as World Heritage
Sites in 1995. Welcome and transfer to hotel.
Luang Prabang today is a small, peaceful town with a remarkably
well-preserved combination of Lao and colonial French architecture,
which led to UNESCO World
Heritage in 1995.
Though virtually nothing of the magnificent 14th century capital of
Fa Ngoum has survived the ravages of
time and numerous invasions, the city is still a veritable treasure
trove of beautiful temples, and historical monuments of the kingdoms
that rose and fell in the centuries that followed.

On early evening, we explore
Street
Night Bazaar,
where you can find the lovely collection and handmade textile by local
and hill tribe people surrounding Luang Prabang.
Dinner at
local restaurant.

3:
LUANG PRABANG - PAK OU CAVES (by A/C car,
boat)
This
morning you m
ay
want to wake up early and participate in the daily early morning ritual
of saffron-clad monks with their black
Alms-giving
bowls being given offerings from the local people, including the
ubiquitous sticky rice. After breakfast
at hotel, we enjoy an excursion by boat for
along the Mekong River to visit the
holly caves of
Pak Ou: Tham Ting and Tham Phoum. A
repository for old or damaged Buddha images that once graced household
shrines, the caves of Tham Ting and Tham Phoum
have become highly venerated sanctuaries. During Lao New Year boatloads
of Luang Prabang residents make the 25km pilgrimage up the Mekong River
to the caves to wash the Buddha images and make merit, just opposite
Mekong river’s bank is the village of Ban Xang
Hai. Though for centuries the village made its living by crafting
stoneware jars, more recently it has become famous for brewing a
particularly fiendish liquor,
made from fermented sticky rice, called
'lao-lao.' Back to Luang Prabang and followed-up is a visit to
National
Museum
at the former royal Palace
which displays a lovely collection of the artifacts reflecting the
richness of Lao cultural dating from the days of the early kings right
through the last sovereign;
Wat Mai - largest temple in
Luang Prabang with a gorgeous atmosphere, playing the role of a temple
for the royal family until 1875. Then, enjoy shopping at the
central market and strolling around the
shopping area, take your time to enjoy a busy market day, communicating
with the local sales and all sorts of their products.
It’s quite a sight to see, to give
somewhat a picture of Lao social living.
Finally, you climb up to the top of the
Phousi temple
with 382 steps
up to take a good view of the beautiful
sunset,
of greater Luang Prabang and Mekong rivers on surrounding.
Back to
your hotel and free at leisure at night.

4:
LUANG PRABANG -XIENG KHUANG (by A/C car
260km)
After breakfast,
depart (private transfer with
tour guide) to
Xieng Khuang - the
province is best-known fo
r
having been heavily bombed during Indochina War, apart from the famous
historic Plain of Jars. On the way you will have a chance to have an
overview of the local life style along the mountainous road through the
tropical rain forest.
Stop-over for visit to
minority
at
Salaphoukhoun
and Tham Pha.
Arrival in
Xieng Khuang,
transfer to hotel for check - in and take your time to free at leisure
for your own activities.
Overnight in Xieng Khuang.

Day 5:
XIENG KHUANG -VANG VIENG (by A/C car 248km)
Breakfast then we transfer out to visit the
Plain of Jars 1, an impressive
archaeological site where hundreds of large stone jars are littered all
over the plateau. We also have time to see the
old capital of
Muang
Khoun
Province
and the nearby villages, home to the Hmong hill
tribe and Tai Dam people. They have an interesting local culture
and a colorful history. We then transfer to
Vang Vieng. Along the way, photo-stops can be made for
beautiful scenery with mountain range and also to see rural life of
various ethnic groups at small villages.
Transfer to hotel for
check in and time of rest.
Overnight in Vang Vieng.

6:
VANG VIENG - VIENTIANE (by A/C car 162km)
After
breakfast, drive back to
Vientiane
(private transfer with tour guide).
Transfer to hotel for check-in and a
moment of rest. Afternoon visit
Buddha Park - is a religious sculpture
park located by the Mekong River 24 km down Stream from Vientiane. Where
you can see the view of Nongkhai as
well. Buddha park or Garden of Statues (1958) comprises a collection of
Buddhist and Hindu sculpture in a level field of grass.
Before back to your hotel, you also
Ban Nong BouaThong
- a famous weaving village in Vientiane.

in Vientiane.

VIENTIANE AIRPORT-FLY BACK HOME (by
car A/C)
After
breakfast, free at leisure for your own activities until check-out.
Transfer to Wattay airport
