YANGON - BAGO - SYRIAM - BAGAN - MANDALAY - MINGUN - YANGON

Day 1: ARRIVAL IN YANGON (by A/C car)

Arrive Yangon at 11.45 by PG701 as a transit flight from Bang Kok airport. Our Burmese tour guide  will meet & welcome you at Yangon airport and transfer to your Hotel for check-in. After freshening up, depart Hotel for a quick round of city sightseeing, visit to Shwedagon Pagoda - one of the world’s most spectacular religious monuments, and its famous Golden Stupa is quite a master piece and quite a pride of Myanmar. Later, we strongly recommend you to enjoy a welcoming dinner at Kaiaweil PaLace with a very interesting Cultural Show.

Back to hotel and free leisure at night. Overnight in Yangon.

 

Day 2: YANGON Fullday tour (by A/C car)

After breakfast, enjoy a fullday cultural sightseeings of Yangon, visit to Chaukhtatkyi Pagoda which is revered as one of the biggest reclining Buddha image in Myanmar. After lunch, visit to Kaba Aye (World Peace) Pagoda, Maha Pasana Cave, Buddha Tooth Rello, ChinaTown, Souvenir Shop and enjoy photographing with the great backview of the scenic Royal Lake. Transfer to hotel for check-in and free time for your own leisure at hotel. Overnight in Yangon. ( B)

 

Day 3: YANGON - ( SYRIAM ) THANLYIN Fullday tour (by A/C car)

Breakfast, then enjoy an outside city excursion to Thanlyin ( Syriam ). It is about 30 mins ride from Yangon by car across Thanlyin Bridge. Visit old Portuguese buildings, Kyaik Khauk Yele Pagoda on a small island at Kyauktan, 12 km south of Thanlyin & the most colourful riverside market. Return to Yangon in the afternoon and proceeding to visit the National Museum. Finally, take a look and enjoy shopping into the Yangon’s largest & busiest Bogyoke Aung San (Scott) market with hundreds of stores and and interesting gems shops. Then visit to the China town & the fruit market. Overnight in Yangon. ( B)

 

Day 4: YANGON - BAGO (by A/C car)

After breakfast, then overland travel on a scenic journey by road 1 & ½ hr straight-up to Bago. Bago, 80km to the north west of Yangon, is an ancient capital of a FORMER MON KINGDOM dating back to the 6th century. Sightseeing in Bago includes the beautiful 55 METRE LONG RECLINING BUDDHA, SHWETHALYAUNG, and the MON STYLE SHWEMAWDAW PAGODA, one of the most venerated in Myanmar. Its spire stands 114m high and is taller even than the SHWEDAGON PAGODA. Also visit the well-restored FORMER PALACE KAMBOZA THADI. End the tour of Bago with a walk around the colourful BAGO MARKET. On the way back to Yangon, visit the ALLIED WAR CEMETERY near Htaukkyan, is the final resting place for over 27,000 allied soldiers, and also visit a local woven bamboo factory. Back to Yangon in the late afternoon, return to hotel and free leisure. Overnight in Yangon. ( B)

 

Day 5: YANGON - BAGAN (by A/C car & PLANE)

After breakfast transfer to airport for domestic flight to Bagan. On arrival, transfer to Hotel. And then today sightseeing start the busy local market and continuing with visits to a diverse selection of the most important pagodas and temples such as SHWEZIGON PAGODA, built by King Anawrahta in the early 11th century, KU BYAUK GYI, a temple with exquisite murals of Jataka scenes, KHAY MIN GA TEMPLE, noted for its spectacular panoramic view of the area’s many monuments and ANANDA TEMPLE with four huge standing Buddha images and numerous seated figures in niches around the galleried interior.

Afternoon, a visit of a lacquer craftsmen’s workshop in nearby MYINKABA village and sightseeing to MANUHA TEMPLE, built in Mon style in 1059, NANBAYA TEMPLE, a unique sandstone monument, said to have been the palace of King Manuha and MYINGABA GU BYAUKGYI TEMPLE, noted for its ancient mural paintings under the protection of UNESCO. The ARCHAEOLOGICAL MUSEUM with a collection of bronze, stone and lacquer Buddha images, clothes and gems, may also be visited. Proceed to BUPAYA PAGODA or MINGALAR ZEDI STUPA to watch the sunset over the Ayeyarwaddy river. Overnight in Bagan. ( B)

 

Day 6: BAGAN FULLDAY TOUR (by A/C car)

After breakfast, Visit the site of TAYOKEPYAY TEMPLE in Min Nan Thu Village, PHAYA THONE ZU and NANDAMANYA TEMPLES noted for exquisite murals of 13th century and KYAT KAN CAVE monastery, a famous meditation center in Bagan. Visit farming villages around Bagan.

Sightseeing countinues after lunch with an excursion to the nostalgic NAT HTAUNG KYAUNG, a wooden monastery built in 1781 by a group of monks, famous for woodcarvings, a collectionof ancient Buddha status and lacquer boxes. Overnight in Bagan. ( B)

 

Day 7: BAGAN - MANDALAY (by A/C car & PLANE)

After breakfast,transfer to Bagan Airport for domestic flight to Mandalay. Upon arrival at the new Mandalay Airport proceed directly to Amarapura. Visit MAHAGANDAYON, a famous Buddhist monastery, where more than a thousand monks live and study; continue to the 200-year-old U BEIN teak bridge, built in 1782 at the time when Amarapura was the royal capital. Visit of BAGAYA MONASTERY, with a superb collection of Buddha statues. En route, stop at a traditional hand-weaving silk workshop. Drive to Mandalay and check-in at hotel.

After lunch, proceed on a comprehensive sightseeing tour including MAHAMUNI PAGODA with its spectacular Buddha image covered with thick layers of gold leaves, SHWE INBIN, one of the most outstanding monasteries in the country, SHWE NAN DAW KYAUNG or GOLDEN PALACE MONASTERY, a superb example of a traditional wooden building and KUTHODAW PAGODA, known as the world’s largest book, consisting of 729 marble slabs engraved with Buddhist scriptures. A visit is also made to a craftsmen’s workshop to see Kalaga tapestries being created. Overnight in Mandalay. ( B)

 

Day 8: MANDALAY - MINGUN - YANGON

After breakfast a boat trip on the mighty AYEYARWADDY RIVER takes us to MINGUN about 11 km (1 hour) upriver from Mandalay where visits include the MINGUN BELL, weighing 90 tons and being the largest uncracked bell in the world, HSINBYUME PAYA and the unfinished MINGUN PAYA, built as one of the world’s largest Chedis by King Bodaw Paya.

In the afternoon, transfer to Mandalay Airport for domestic flight to Yangon. Upon arrival, transfer to Hotel. Dinner at local Restaurant. Overnight in Yangon. ( B)

 

Day 9: YANGON - BANGKOK

This morning, you would take time for free at leisure for your own arrangements, visit and last round shopping in Bogyoke Aung San (Scott) market or THEINGYI MARKET. Check-out at early noon and transfer to Yangon airport for a flight to Bang Kok by PG702 at 13:45-15:30.
